A Special Announcement from Sam Griffiths

We are delighted to announce that Sam Griffiths and Paulank Brockagh have been selected to represent Australia at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Team Griffiths wishes Sam and Brocks and the rest of the team the very best of luck.

As Sam says “I am honoured to be granted this opportunity to represent my country at the very highest level: The Olympic Games. Paulank Brockagh is an amazing horse and I could not wish for a better horse to take to Rio. However, nothing will change in our routine, Rio is still four weeks away and we can’t just bubble wrap Brocks and hope for the best. We continue to train and plan and will get excited when we land in Rio!”

Australian Team Training will take place in the UK from the 23rd July for one week and then the horses fly from Stansted Airport to Rio. All flights between Europe and Rio de Janeiro (GIG) will be non-stop flights with an estimated flight time of 11 hours and 40 minutes. The way back will be about 30 minutes less. Brocks, as will all the horses, be travelling the equivalent of business class in wider stalls.  Sam and Brocks will be in Brazil for approximately ten days. We will be posting photos and results on Facebook and Twitter.
