About Bucas

At Bucas we develop all of our products with the well being of horses and horse owners in mind. It is our belief that products designed this way and manufactured to the highest quality standards will always prove to be the right choice in the short as well as the long term.

Since our establishment in 1981, we have merged experience and know-how from different countries and markets. 90% of our production has always been exported and this has resulted in Bucas pioneering the development of the “Intelligent” horse blanket.

In 1982, we produced the first high performance water resistant turnout rug. This was followed by the first fully waterproof and breathable rugs by the end of the eighties. We have also perfected the “Stay-Dry” principle of using wicking linings that transport sweat and moisture away from the horse while the inside of the lining remains dry.

Intelligent implies an ability to cope with certain problems. At Bucas, we develop all of our products with this principle in mind. The following are but a few examples of how we employ such Intelligent concepts.

• In the event of a horse being wet or just sweating, our "Stay-Dry" lining fabrics removes moisture from the horse
• Our use of "Anti-Microbial" treatment of lining fabrics protects the lining fabrics against the growth of a range of micro-organisms including Bacteria, Fungi and Mites
• Our Comfort Front Pad provides additional comfort and protects from front straps and fasteners
